I have been receiving alot of questions lately about lash extensions for people with sensitive eyes. I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I have never had a problem with any of my clients experiencing discomfort from my lash extensions. I attribute my 100% success rate to two things:
1) Sticky Situation: The Glue
The glue I use is:
- professional use only
- medium consistency
- low fumes
- 10 second drying time
An easy way to identify a 'nasty' glue is by its smell. I think it's worth noting that it is in my best interests as well as yours to only work with a safe glue as I definitely don't want to breathing in toxic chemicals all day long.
2) Going the distance: Lash Application
I place the lash extensions at least 2/3mm away from your eyelids. This is a delicate process as the extension needs to be close enough to appear seamless but far away enough so as not to come into contact with your skin.
I see so many bad extension jobs that are actually painful for the client as they are poking into the soft skin around the eye or in some case the eye ball itself!! Don't let yourself fall victim to such a fate by ensuring that you go to a reputable extentionist and ask them about the glue they use. I am always happy to discuss the lash extension process with clients and if they have sensitive eyes I request that they let me know how the extensions are feeling the next day. A good set of eyelash extensions should be weightless and feel undetectable.
Be safe ladies and trust your instincts. If you don't feel comfortable with a lash extensionist don't trust them with your eyes!
